# Editorial Policy > How Fix Apron Belly picks products, handles corrections and keeps ratings independent of affiliate income. URL: https://fixapronbelly.com/editorial-policy/ Updated: 2026-09-14 Last updated Sep 14, 2026 Fix Apron Belly picks products on published criteria. Affiliate income never decides a score, a ranking or what we cover. This page sets out how we choose, source, correct and update what we publish. ## Independence - Scores are computed from the [research rubric](https://fixapronbelly.com/how-we-research/#rubric). Nobody types in an overall number. - Brands can't pay for placement, a higher score or removal of a "Skip if" note. - We include products that have no affiliate program when they're the better choice, and we say so. - We don't accept free products in exchange for coverage. If that changes, the page will say so next to the product. ## Sourcing standards Medical statements cite primary or institutional sources: PubMed/PMC papers, NCBI StatPearls, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Academy of Dermatology, major hospital systems and insurers' published medical policies. Product specs come from the brand's own product page or size chart on a stated date. User experiences are quoted word for word from public threads and linked. We never paraphrase them into testimonials. ## Medical content We are not clinicians and our pages are not medical advice. We describe what sources say, state their limits, and point readers to a doctor for rashes that won't heal, pain, infection or surgery decisions. See the [medical disclaimer](https://fixapronbelly.com/medical-disclaimer/). ## Updates and staleness Every product check carries a date. Anything older than 90 days shows a "re-check due" label until we verify it again. A price change of more than 15% triggers an early re-check. ## Corrections Send corrections to [hello@fixapronbelly.com](mailto:hello@fixapronbelly.com). We confirm the error, fix the page, update the date and describe the change when it affects a recommendation. ## Use of AI tools We use software, including AI tools, to help draft, organize and check pages. A person on the editorial team checks every fact against its cited source before it's published.
